Whether negative or positive, our thoughts are imp Whether negative or positive, our thoughts are impacting our bodies. So how does someone simply “think positive thoughts”? Well it’s easier said than done, but it’s very doable!

Self care for your mind is probably the most important self care you can do. So pencil in time this weekend to love on your brain!

Our brains are not very smart. Example: How many Our brains are not very smart. Example:

How many times have you let your thoughts get you worked up about a possible outcome of a situation, even though there was NO real evidence that that outcome would come to fruition?

Now don’t get us wrong, our brains are the most powerful tools we have, but they will also do anything necessary to protect us, and that includes making situations seem like more of a threat than they actually are.

Here is some advice from our podcast conversation with Neurolinguistic Programming Practitioner, @keyleemiracle, on how to tap into your parasympathetic nervous system and bring your brain out of that “fight or flight” feeling and into a state of calm.

In all seriousness, “doom scrolling” has taken quite a toll on our attention spans. We’ve become accustomed to quick-changing visuals that fire off dopamine in our brains, which is why it’s hard to stop scrolling.

And that awful feeling you have after doom scrolling? Psychologists speculate that it’s a result of too much dopamine being released without your body having proper time to process.

You can combat this by exercising mindfulness and doing things that give your body time to soak in the dopamine releases:

☁️ Watch more long form content. Watch a WHOLE movie. Check in on your favorite YouTuber and see how they’re doing, etc.
☁️  Drive in the slow lane.
☁️  Cook a meal.
☁️  Take the scenic route.
☁️  Start a project and see it through the end.
☁️  Pick a hobby, practice, and observe your growth.

These are healthy ways to release dopamine. It’s beneficial (and counter-cultural) for our minds to practice un-hurriedness.

Check out the latest episode of the podcast where we address all kinds of “Squiggly-Brained” struggles that come with having a short attention span, and how to create systems to help! 🎧✨🌱
